Over the many years in the Driver Training industry
 we have built up a good relationship with Senior Examiners though our specialised work in Driving Instructor Training and advance driving.

We are the first driver training company to be given the DIAmond Advance Motorists and DSA Accredited Taxi Trainer and Passenger Awareness Certificate in the Lancashire area.

As you may or may not realise since 2003 The DSA and local Authorities Councils have been working together to ensure that all licensed taxi drivers, including private Hire and minibus, come up to a minimum standard of driving for passenger safety and also passenger awareness.

With this they are insisting tests conducted by The DSA Examiners or DIA Advance Examiners be taken and passed before being given a Hackney or Private Hire badge and could be in affect by early 2008. The only reason why Authorities have held back from these compulsory tests is because of lack of training establishments, these tests how ever eventually will be conducted periodically and on receipt of complaints from the general public. You may also be aware that in April 2008, corporate manslaughter laws will come into affect, which means the company owner of all passenger carrying vehicles will be responsible for all Training of there drivers and records kept about them, there for making the owner responsible in the event of accidents which is why again the entrance procedure to becoming a Taxi Driver is being over viewed.

DIAmond Advanced Taxi Test

More and more local authorities are insisting upon an assessment of driving ability before issuing a licence to trade as a taxi or private hire driver. Legislation is constantly reflecting the requirements of the people and standards are being raised to comply with this need.

The DIAmond taxi test includes the 'taxi manoeuvre' and like any passenger carrying test places great emphasis on the safety and comfort of those being driven. A national network of DIAmond Accredited Taxi-Driver Trainers (DATTs) can assist existing and potential taxi or private hire drivers with assessment and training and of course booking a DIAmond taxi test.

Pass mark:

No more than 9 driving faults

Route:

A pre-determined route which has been agreed and approved by DIAmond
