Theory test and hazard perception
The Theory test changed in 2003 and added the new HPT element, apart from that the test still remains the same comprising of two parts;
THEORY
35 multiple choice questions on,
the rules of the road,
highway code,
road signs and markings,
safty-maintenence-handling of your vehicle,
first aid and dealing with accidents,
in which you must answer 30 out of 35 correct to pass.
(3rd September 2007 = 50 questions)
HAZARD PERCEPTION
A short test of your reactions based on 14 video clips in different road situations.There will be 15 hazards to spot and the sooner you see them the higher your score will be.There is possible 76 marks to be had and you must get 44 to pass, each hazard as a possible 5 marks.
You must be successful in both parts of the test to pass or you will have to resit the full test again, and also the practical driving test can not be taken until you have.
